Ovulating or not??

Asked by mummy2finley.
Hey, Can anyone tell me, if when a woman isnt ovulating, does she still get her periods??? God I sound so dumb!? But my cycles are very irregular, one month it can be as long as 38 days then other months it can be the 'average' 28 days, so I'v started using ovulation tests, have been testing now for the last 6days (started 11days after my 1st period) still with no LH surge present?? But I know I will have a period at the end of the month. So do I ovulate?? Why arnt the tests picking this up?? I feel so stupid or like I'm doing something wrong!! Please help!! aaarrrggghhhhhhhh! x

Is breast feeding..... "gross"

Asked by fackler88. Newbie Chat
ive always said if and when i had a baby, i would breastfeed, and so far that has been my atitude. But with the baby only 9 weeks away, 5 of the 7 mums i know, have told me that breastfeeding is "gross", "disgusting", "perverted". I know many people have problems breatfeeding and go to bottle feeding, but these gals didnt give it a shot, when i asked why they said to me "ever had your boobs gropped and nibbled in foreplay and enjoyed it?" naturally, i replied. ad apparently "if you can that experiance for pleasure, and then have your baby sucking at your boobs, your disgusting." ive consulted my mother, aunts and grandmother about this, theyve all more or less told me, "i enjoy having my breasts nibbled during sex, but breastfeeding isnt an act of sexual pleasure its natural and a wonderful experiance, and feels nothing like what your partner might do" this totlly eased my mind, i never thought of breastfeeding as anything other than feedng your child, a special bond between mother and baby. but talking to ppl lately has made me feel low aboout it, and i actually feel rather anxious about feeding my son once he is here. to be totally honnest i cried to my partner last night about it. ive whitnessed two women breastfeeding this past year - on one occasion i actually went over and chated with the lady about her baby and thought nothing of it. but each time i whitnessed the women being asked to leave the shop for 'indecent exposure' and for 'bothering other customers'. could people give me their opinions on breastfeeding? i really want to try and breastfeed, but with the majority of people telling me its worng and disgusting i feel awkward. what did you make of breastfeeding? i feel if i breastfeed i will be getting judged, and doing something wrong. ive never felt like this before, and i want to breastfeed. i feel stupid

Kerry Katona and smoking during pregnancy

Asked by charlotteb. Newbie Chat
Some of you may have noticed the news story about Kerry Katona not being able to give up smoking during her current pregnancy. I was wondering what you all thought of this? Do you think it's bad? Or do we get bogged down with what you can and can't do during pregnancy? Did any of you smoke during pregnancy and what was the reaction? Would love to know your thoughts? Nifa - gurgle editor

Article : Age gaps between babies

Asked by nishanmillie.
I have been told by my mother-in-law and a few friends that it's really hard to have two babies very close together and I should wait until Millie is a least 2 and a half/at nursery school before trying again... has anyone else found this?

Baby rice at 10 weeks?

Asked by fae.darb.
Hi everyone. My little boy is 10 weeks today and for the last couple of days he has been feeding every 2 hours on the dot. it's so tiring. a friend has suggested giving a couple of spoonfulls of baby rice at bedtime along with his bottle. he doesn't always finish his bottles, he usually has about 180ml each feed but it just doesn't keep him full for long. What are your experiences? x
