My 14week old baby is only having a dirty nappy every 4-5 days, last week she went 7 days before she had one! She struggles with pain and wind for a day or 2 before hand and when her bowel moves the stools are not hard as you would expect for constipation but soft and "soupy". She is breastfed but has 1 bottle of formula at bed time. I've tried cooled boiled water and my GP suggested baby rice but I'm afraid that will make her worse. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

hi i was talking to my h/v about this today as 1 of my twins was having problems aswell, she said i could try abit of pure apple or orange juice with the boiled water,it seems babies prefer the apple as its a little sweeter.

hiya my first child nw 20months old was bottle fed an had the same problem i have not long found out that he may need an operation to stretch his bowel as he has been on strong medicine for a while now and its not helping much , my 2nd child also 14 weeks old is breastfed and poos regularly however i tried him with a bottle of formula milk once and this had the same affect on him , so maybe if u cut out the bottle at night it may help ,, hope this is of use to u xx
