Baby Showers
A baby shower is party where
your friends and family ‘shower’ you with gifts for both you and your baby. The obvious plus is that you’ll hopefully receive some useful baby gear to
tick off that long list of basics and must-haves you’ve been panicking over as
your due date nears.
If you’re hosting a baby shower…
- Why not ask each guest to
bring their favorite book from their childhood as a gift for the baby.
- Ask the mom-to-be to draw up a list of
essential baby items that you can all club together and buy.
- Make it simple and stick to
cupcakes and juice.
- Ask guests to bring photographs
of themselves as babies and take turns at guessing who’s who.
- As a treat for the mom-to-be
you could arrange for someone to come and massage her feet – something she’ll
love if she is in the last stages of pregnancy.
- A great practical extra is to
ask each guest to bring a prepared meal the mom-to-be can freeze for the early
days after the birth when she won’t have time to cook.
Above all, make sure that the
mom-to-be doesn’t have to do a thing. If the party is at her house make sure
you organize for a few guests to tidy up at the end so she isn’t left with a
mess.
