5 top pregnancy tips

5 top pregnancy tips

If this is your first pregnancy, you may be unprepared for some of the symptoms. Here are five hot tips to help you find comfort if things get tough…

1. For aching, tired muscles, invest in a good pregnancy support pillow. In the later stages, this little pillow can mean the difference between a good night’s rest and eight hours of tossing and turning. Foot baths can be bliss at the end of a long day to counteract aching feet and your partner can be enlisted to give a gentle, nightly shoulder rub.

2. If you’re feeling tired, bloated and sick, pregnancy style may be the last thing on your mind but taking some care over your appearance will help to boost your self-esteem. Treat yourself to some stylish maternity wear that doesn’t make you look like a wedding marquee; book a regular manicure or facial; and wear comfortable shoes!

3. Cut out stress from your life as much as you can. Try burning relaxing essential oils such as lavender, turning off the TV and turning on some gentle music and making time to relax by reading your favorite trashy novel or magazine.

4. Eat little and often to maintain your blood sugar levels and combat morning sickness. Try not to leave more than a couple of hours between meals, stick to healthy snacks, and drink plenty of water.

5. Make time for your partner. Depending on how you’re feeling, you may or may not be up for lots of hot sex, but even without it there are many ways you can get intimate. Many couples go on a babymoon vacation prior to their baby’s arrival in order to have a last fling before two becomes three.
