Pushy fathers put kids first

Pushy fathers put kids first

According to a study, proud fathers put their children's successes above their own.

A survey of men with young families by Mintel, who conducted the study, showed that half of the men say their children's exam results are their closest concern, followed by their out-of-school activities. The young fathers also rank their children's achievements as being well above their own career and living a healthy lifestyle.

Research manager James McCoy from Mintel said: "Although this interest in kids is encouraging, it could be putting increased pressure on Britain's youngsters. It is also the case that dads want their kids to do much better than they did in their youth."
