If you’re planning your pregnancy, then this part has the potential to be very enjoyable!
There’s no definitive answer as to what is the best way of guaranteeing conception success but rest assured that there are plenty of opinions on the subject. The key seems to be not to stress out about falling pregnant and instead concentrate on having fun. Don't put enormous pressure on yourself – if you’re relaxed about it, you are more likely to see the results you want.
For couples having regular sex (every two or three days), 80% will become pregnant within a year and 90% within 18 months. Try to keep your lovemaking varied and exciting and remember that you have most chance of falling pregnant in the few days before and after you ovulate (usually around 14 days after the first day of your period). Work out which day you’re ovulating on and then make sure you have sex on the days preceding, during and following it. Also, take a look at our article on timing sex around ovulation. Try to use your desire to become pregnant as a key to a new world of sexual pleasure, rather than making the act of intercourse seem like a duty.
