Yasmina from The Apprentice 4 months pregnant

When 29-year-old Yasmina Siadatan won The Apprentice last year, the papers dubbed her the ‘Alpha Female’, citing that Lord Sugar’s newest apprentice was destined for greatness.

Yasmina has now revealed that she is almost four-months pregnant after having an ‘office’ relationship with a colleague.

Miss Siadatan was hired after winning the last series of The Apprentice for a £100,000-a-year business development manager position at Lord Sugar’s company AMScreen Healthcare who provide digital screens for the NHS.

Soon after she started her new position she embarked on a relationship with fellow development manager 31-year-old Andrew Hepburn. Yasmina is now four-months pregnant and is expected to start her maternity leave around Christmas time.

Lord Sugar has previously warned about excessive maternity rights for employees, but is said to be ‘very happy and supportive’ about Miss Siadatan’s pregnancy.

Miss Siadatan is ecstatic about her pregnancy news, saying: ‘I feel very lucky. Life is brilliant at the moment. We’re really enjoying everything that comes with it. Things are really good.”

Yasmina's partner Andrew Hepburn left AMScreen once the relationship got serious and once Miss Siadatan had moved into this £450,000 flat in South London.

One of Yasmina’s friends said: ‘She knew she was taking a risk by getting involved with someone at work, but it just felt right.” The friend went on to say that although the pair hadn’t been together for very long, they are delighted about the baby and about setting up home together.

Lord Sugar picked Yasmina last June as The Apprentice winner saying that it was ‘gut instinct’ that made him decide.

Lord Sugar is known for his outspoken views on maternity rights, previously claiming that maternity laws had gone ‘too far’ and meant that employers were reluctant to employ women of child bearing age. However, yesterday a spokes person for Lord Sugar said: ‘He is pleased for Yasmina and very supportive. He looks forward to welcoming her back when she is ready.’

What do you think? Do you think this proves Lord Sugar’s previous statement that employers should be wary of employing women of childbearing age, or do you think it is perfectly respectable, even though she ‘won’ the position, to be pregnant within the year and planning maternity leave?

What was your boss' reaction when you told him/her that you were pregnant?

I think it's totally fair enough - why shouldn't she get pregnant just because she works for alan sugar?? It really annoys me when people like him say you shouldn't employ women of childbearing age because most mums I know who work are bl00dy good at their jobs!!!!
