Car seat confusion

There are new laws regarding car seat laws and guidelines to follow. This may help with your awareness to the changes that have been made!

Worringly, only one in ten parents actually know the changes to UK child car seat laws.

86 per cent thought they knew the current laws but it turned out over three quarters hadn't heard of the new i-Size child car seat regulations.

In March 2015 the government amended the existing law to allow the use of i-Size approved car seats designed to keep children rearward facing for up to 15 months.

It runs parallel to existing laws that allow children to sit forward-facing from around 12 months depending on their weight, but is causing confusion among parents.

76 per cent of parents surveyed by AXA feel the new regulations haven't been advertised enough and, shockingly, one in five parents said they don't plan to look up the new legislation at all.
