An even safer way for children to travel

An even safer way for children to travel

Britax has developed a seatbelt extension for children in booster seats to ensure their safety, even if they move around in the seat

Children love to move around in their car seat, but wriggling, turning and sleeping can leave them and their seatbelt in an unsafe position. In a booster seat an adult seatbelt can ride up to lie across a child's belly if they're moving about, making their abdomen much more vulnerable if an accident should happen.

The Britax SecureGuard turns adult 3-point seatbelts into 4-point belts, preventing the lap belt from moving upwards onto a child's stomach and reducing the force on that area in the event of a collision. Car crash tests have shown it reduces the abdominal forces by up to 35 per cent.

The SecureGuard clips onto seatbelts as a fourth 'anchor point', ensuring the lap belt remains over the pelvic bones, the optimal position for child safety.
