how old is too old?

My partner was 39 almost 40 when we had our second. He has said he wishes he had children younger because he had more energy but I think that depends on the individual. No two 40 year olds are the same!!! I don't think 42 is too old.

when i had my first 2 my husband at the time was 30 then 34. i was in my 20s. my new partner is 36 and we had no problems im now 32. one of my friends husband was in his 50s when they had their children she was in her 20s. age gaps become a problem to other people. when my cousin was 10 my uncle his dad was in his late 40s. didnt bother the family at all. if all is fit and healthy then go for it. good luckx

hiya ! i wouldnt call urself stupid lol i'd say ur being realistic ! it can save u lots of stress if u leave it too late although it is more the female age than the male as male sperm starts to decrease around early thirties i think ... i may be wrong :/ me n my hubby have been ttc for 14 months now .... I am 23 in a few weeks and hubby is 38 :) we get his sperm results on Friday so we will see, like you his age has not and does not bother me .... i would never wish he was younger or things were different .... do some research and speak to ur doctor x sorry i cant be of much help but i know how u feel, we dont have any children at all yet x i found this article which made us push for hubby's test, i would say tho , take it with a pinch of salt :)

hi men have babys when there old so dont worry to much about it 42 isnt even that old my dad was 45 when my little sister was born. if you are worried though then you can get checked out nearer the time you want a baby x

my husband and i are talking about having another baby, i have a 5 yr old with ex husband my husband and i have a dughter who is a year old on tues so we not thinking about right way but how old do u think is too old i mean im 24 and my husband is 36 so i know we have some time yet. mine and my husband age gap has never bothered us before but its now it is only on the fact of having another child we both would really love another child and i like the age gap of my other too but by then my husband will be 42 am i just being really stupid?????
