Hi everyone, just after your opinions on my current symptoms! I'm 39 weeks and 2 days (due next Tues Dec 2nd). For the last couple of days I've had really bad back pain (like period pain) and my bump goes stupidly hard and uncomfortable (not regular timing though). I think that they were contractions as they're more painful than the Braxton Hicks I've been having for the last few weeks. I had a show yesterday and a bit more today. I've also had a lot more pressure in the pelvis and some internal pains down below as well (which I'm presuming are around my cervix). At my last midwife appointment, she said that the head was fully engaged. Does this sound like early labour or is that just wishful thinking? Any opinions or advice welcome! Sorry for the essay! p.s. I've also had a mad urge to clean, felt sickly and 'low' as well.

I'm so pleased for you. Glad that it is all over with now. And good for you gas and air for an induction you're a better lady than myself i was screaming for an epidural wheni was induced. Glad you are both home and doing well. Keep in touch and let me know how things are going x
Thank you and will do! She's doing great so far, very well behaved! She's feeding every 2 hours though, which is quite exhausting (breastfeeding)! She's a very happy baby though, only crying when her nappy gets changed. So far, so good, fingers crossed!x

Sorry for the late reply everyone! I did suggest sex to my husband but there was no need:

Thurs morning my waters broke and we went up to the hospital
They found out I had pre-eclampsia and so, had to induce me sooner than they normally would
I was in early stages of labour all day, getting very bored!
My husband was sent home at 2am as I was only 2cm but as soon as he went, my contractions stepped up a notch and he was called to come straight in.
Very long story short - Friday 10:55 our little girl Kaitlin was born after a hard labour and no sleep! I managed with gas and air and half a dose of diamorphine, plus a ventouse delivery.

I'm a bit sore and very tired but so in love with my baby girl that makes it all worthwhile!

Thanks for all the advice and support, if i can be of any help to anyone else please shout!
