Hi, I'm 34 weeks pregnant and planning on breastfeeding but I also wanted to express my milk so that my husband will be able to feed the baby as well. I have been looking at breast pumps but I am getting confused as to whether to get a manual pump or an electric pump, can anyone help with which ones are best and what makes of pumps are good as well please? Thank you in advance ;0)

I know they say to wait to breastfeeding established before giving a botle, but then you are entering into a world of fighting. With my 1st I gave an expressed bottle after 4wks and he took it like a dream and never fought it at all. With my second i waited till she was nearly 10weeks and she fought like a demon we tried 3 botle types till we could get her to take one. Just remember to express the feed that is being bottle fed as this will ensure that your milk supply is kept up. As my little one is getting older she is nearly 5mnths now and we combine feed with formula because keeping up with the manual breast pump is hard going you can hire a hospital electric one from NCT a month at a time which i would definetly do if i go for a third. I would order it now as they have waiting lists. Good luck with it all. If you get the Gina ford book Contented baby she explains the best times to express and you can store it in the freezer for a month best to get a good supply frozen esp when they are on a growth spurt

Hello, I've got a Tommee Tippee manual breastpump which seems to work ok. It's always a bit of a mission expressing (for me anyway!) but most of the time it seems to do the job. My little boy was about a month old when I first expressed and it seemed to go ok, and he got on fine with the tommee tippee bottles too. I've never used an electric pump though..
