All babies have different cries and will cry for different lengths of time. Parents also have different “cry” thresholds so what seems a lot of crying to one parent may well be barely registered by another! However, you know your baby best and if you feel she is in pain you should of course go and see your doctor. If there is nothing obviously wrong then you can at least put your mind at rest and relax a little. Try to ascertain exactly when your daughter is crying the most – is it before a feed, or when she wakes up or when she needs a cuddle? What soothes her best or most quickly? Are there particular times of the day or night that she is most upset? Keeping a diary and recording her crying episodes will help you to get a clear picture and help you to find out how to help her.
was going to suggest you asked the midwife til i saw the mistake about her age! thank god for that- was going to say it could be a hernia and you should maybe check for lumps just inside her groin (my sister had one and was screaming all the time too!) but if she's 14months then yeah teething is pretty likely- maybe get her checked over to rule out anything serious and put your mind at rest? does she have a bath as part of her bedtime routine? i bathed my 6 week old just before bed (usually do it around teatime!) and it floored her-she slept from 11pm til 8am this morning! sometimes it helps them settle and calms them down
I had the same problem and it turned out my daughter was colic. They just seem to cry for no reason and it's really upsetting as they seem to experience pain when they got wind. ask your health visitor about baby massage, especially tummy massage - worked wonders for my daughter! It gets the wind out better and relaxes the tummy muscles. Also there's Infacol to try, takes few days to work tho. You'll probably find that your baby will enjoy sleeping on the tummy on you as it's warm and more comfortable. It will settle eventually. xx
aww poor thing! does she have a fever or had trouble sleeping? maybe she coming down with something? lily getting over a cold and she's been quite whingy and clingy not like her usual self at all. as kimandgrace suggested could she be teething? it's such a frustrating age at times coz although they know what's wrong they still not quite able to tell you.
i know babies cry but my daughter is always so upset i feel like i am letting her down by not finding the problem and sloving it for her, its not just a cry it sounds like she is pain and its so upsetting :(
Hello, my daughter was the same she was crying for 2 or 3 hours without a pause, but after some times I sorted out that she was not having enough sleep so she was getting over tired. Is your baby sleeping well???
