I came off the pill about 3 months ago. I had a period on the 28 Sept and 29 Oct, they seemed like real periods (hurt enough! I forgot how much the pill helps with cramps!) Any way, seen as those came pretty much at the same time, I assumed my periods would just continue to run like clock work, they always did before I was on the pill and always did while I was on the pill! I have missed a period this month. I assumed it was because I had gotten lucky and had fallen pregnant, until I read another post I never even considered it could have been the pill messing my cycle up! I tested again today (now 5 days late, if it was due 28/29th like the other two), so I'm starting to really doubt that I am pregnant! I'm having some symptoms of pregnancy e.g. nausea, loss of appetite, vivid dreams, sneezing, period like cramps, mood swings and some others. I am desperate to know. Looking forward to docs on Wed when they can do a test. Do they tell u the urine result there and then?? I have some home tests, no doubt i'll be doing another of those before wednesday!!! What do you think? Wishful thinking?? I have never totally missed a period before. It's not just late... I didnt have one throughout the whole of November.

Hi just to let you know I'm also in the same position as you! I'd been on pill for 7 years, came off in Aug, had cycles of 29, 40 then 43. With the last one i really thought i must be pregnant but obviously not! Did 2 tests then felt a wally when i came on! Like the above post says everyone's body is different i'm just about coming round to the idea that that includes me! I'm just gonna try and be patient and not stress over it, it will happen when its right. x

It makes perfect sense! I was exactly the same. My periods were often late ranging from 21 to 30 days or more. However when I finally got pregnant before finding out i felt like i was going to have a period from about 2 weeks before i was due, my breasts were sore and felt really full; and - this is a good indication - i could SMELL things a lot more!
I never actually missed a period but found it extremely frustrating when they were late and I'd build my hopes up.
Good luck! xx
I can smell things a lot more too! LOADS of things REALLY bother me now that didnt bother me before ,I feel 'odd', i have had a lot more symptoms over the past 3weeks that are getting worse and worse.I am now 7 days late but got another BFN yesterday :-| My head and body are making me say 'I KNOW i am pregnant' but the tests are proving otherwise....Im totally confused. congratulations to you.x

Other than feeling pregnant and being sick, did you have any of the other 'symptoms'? When you say your periods were irregular, did you ever actually miss one altogether, or did they just come late etc? I will stop thinking about it and just relax etc but its hard now because of me actually missing a period... if my period came, I'd say, ah, well, better luck next time! But its the fact that I don't know if I am or not due to having no period at all and a lot of preg symptoms - does that make sense?!

i'm on month 16 after coming off the pill after taking it for 4 - 5 years and still not pregnant, i was having cycles anywhere from 28 - 50 days for a good 12 months or so ! I have been a regular 30 days for the past 4 months now and i'm ovulating regularly too but it's just a case of being really patient and knowing that everyone is different , it will happen when ur body is ready and nobody knows when that will be .... good luck.
during your cycles did you have any symptoms that lead you to believe you may be pregnant? Thanks for the advice. x

Hi, it took me 15 months to get pregnant after coming off the pill (sorry!) and my body took a while to get it out my system as i was on the pill for 6 years. Periods were irregular, sometimes felt like i was pregnant and even felt sick. I was stressed out over it and thought i was infertile but my doctor told me that usually it takes few months for the effect of the pill to wear off.
don't get discouraged tho, my friend got pregnant after 3 months of coming off the pill.
Got lucky when i least thought about it, so - just enjoy yourself ;-)
