Hi! I will try and keep this as brief as poss!
Just found out I'm rhesus negative and have read that there is little chance of this harming my baby but that in certain cases where blood may have already passed between us there could be a risk.
When I was 7 weeks I had heavy bleeding which turned out to be a miscarraige of a non-identical twin (as far as they could tell but could not be 100% sure) From the scans it did not seem as though this had affected my other baby but now I'm concerned that maybe there is a chance that blood cells may have somehow passed??
If this is the case I've heard that it could lead to my body attacking my baby whilst I'm carrying her? I'm going for an anti-d injection in just over a week and have been told I will have a blood test too (to check for antibodies I guess?) but would really appreciate any information/advice. Thank you! x
Please talk to my sister who is also Rhesus Neg and has been through all the trouble associated, My sister is on here as Vixtoria - maybe you can find her by putting 'area' in on search for people, her post code is SN10 1EZ :)
I don't know much about it and I can totally understand why your feeling the way you do after your loss xx, what I can say is that one of my best friends is also rhesus neg and she has three very health children. So maybe it would help to put the statistics of it happening into perspective, ask your midwife or gp and I'm sure if you can't find them on the net they would be happy to help you get some more info. take care xx
