Congratualtions on the imminent birth! How far away does OH work? Is work aware of your situation and how does OH stand for paternity leave? I am sure if he puts work on stand-by of the baby's arrival then they should not stand in his way. Its a really special time for both of you.
It is a shame he isn't there because he is missing out on the experience of you being pregnant but on the other hand the way things are with the financial climate at the moment I suppose you have to be a little pleased he is working overtime and getting that little extra cash which I am sure will be a little better for bambino. Hope in the long term he doesn't lose his job.
I myself cannot get rid of my other half (live and work together!)but would love to be at the stage you are at at 36 weeks. I cannot even fall.

On the upside hun at least you will have money, my husband is only contracted to do 20 hours a week but when he started he was doing alot more but this week hes only got 17 and they have put him on a weeks holiday next week.

I'm 36 weeks preg and feelin quite down 2day :( my boyfriend has been told he has to work overtime so he's workin every weekend from now on otherwise hes going to lose his job, the problem is the weekend is really the only time i get to see him cuz we live in different cities, I'm really paranoid he's going to end up missin our son's birth with having to work all time
