Hello.... I Know this has nothing to do with a baby, well it kinda does, me & my partner hopefully want to get our own house however im worrying now that the banks wont lend us the money with the (have yet to talk to the bank) economic crisis,So no mortgage no baby planning :(... Anyone else out there struggling with getting a mortgage? Thank you for replys!!
Hello. I'm in the same situation. We have found a house that we like but it needs alot of work including building work doing to it so we want a mortgage bigger than the value of the house. Does anyone know if that is possible? Have you managed to get a mortgage now JodieMay? If so any tips? xxxx
I wouldn't have thought so. From what I know, which granted isn't a great deal, they aren't even that keen on 100% mortgages at moment (as many people are now in negative equity because of them). You could try going to see a mortgage adviser, be careful though, some charge you and some get commission from the mortgage provider on completion of a mortgage so don't go paying someone when you don't have to.

wow - that'll definately give them something to think about! (we didn't have anything) i would wait a month or two then talk to an independent mortgage advisor who can search the whole market for you, cuz apparently the more companies you go to the less chance you have as it goes against you as they all do credit checks (thats what we were told anyhow) i'd get someone to recommend one to you if poss. good luck x
Northern Rock announced that they were about to start lending again on the news today...hopefully a few more banks will follow suit, and you'll get on the ladder. Dont give up hope though, me and my hubby got our mortgage 3 years ago - i was 20 he was 22 - and i only earnt £550 a month in full time work, so it does happen x

Is there any financial advisor out there i cant get some advice of? If your one add mee!! :)
were expecting ur first baby in may time and have thought as weve had our mortgage for 3 years we'd take a break from it whilst the babies in her first year and pay interest only. weve been payin £606 a month for 3 years to be told we crnt have interest rate only as we owe more than our house is worth. great hay!! our "case" aparently has been referred to the appropriate department for investigation under special circumstances!lol. we havnt commited a crime just wnna take a break from a big monthly bill. i no its so hard chick but the banks are lending money still just only appropriate amounts to not stretch people xx good luck hun xx
Hi myself and my fiance bought our house in july 2007 not long before the finacial crises started we got a mortgage not to bad but had to put down a deposit to help secure the house i think as long as you have a deposit to put down you should be ok and make sure you dont go to high above what you can afford as it can be a struggle if the interest rates go up.
