Hey guys- really in desperate need of some help here- at this rate baby will be past the 6 wks of timescale to registrar his birth with no name! I have four weeks left and still have nothing tht makes me go aw- thts nice!
We have 5 other children,, Kyle, Robbie, Ella, Hayley, and owen- we have decided to use Dennis as the middle name for this baby but cant find anything tht sits nicely with the other names and the chosen middle name- what makes it worse is we have a ccommon surname- smith- so traditional names like matthew and james are a no- no im not really into names tht are too modern like Riley and Bailey for example as thy too are getting to be quite popular and im not really a fan of modern names in general anyway, however i like names tht are not used very often any more - like craig or dean etc- however there are people in the family with both these namess- please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks guys xxxxx
I think Nathan Dennis sounds lovely .....
well we had a small selection of names- and to be honest im nost sure if any of them sound right- moreover tht none of them really make me go (Ooo) lol,,,
Oliver- (although Oliver is popular and our surname is common) there are god knows how many olivers at the school
Alfie, (but didnt want ppl shortening his name to Alf or AL
Zander (worried friends will tease him when he's older cos it sounds like sandra)
Andre (but think it sounds snobbish when we have a common surname and think it doesnt go with the other names)
Mikey (not sure it goes right ith our chosen middle names)
Nathan ( hmmmm.. not quite sure on this one)
???
any comments?? im not sure an of them are what im really looking for..: / dont make me go "Ooo yeh i;m gunna have tht" lik i did with my other kids names
I quite like Mikey and i think it goes well. I work in a school and some of the less common names there are Roman, Mitchell, Evan, Ross, Macaulay, Alexzanda, Louis, Piers, Morgan, Eton, Campbell and Harvey.
how about, noah, nathen, jacob, jamie, joseph, joshua, luke, liam, archie, keiran, kallum, caleb, connor, charlie, freddie, frankie, nathaniel, tyler, bobbie, robbie, jasper, anthony, ashley, austin, aubrey, issacc, ewan. good luck hope these help.
My daughter Ruby would have been Alfie if she was a boy!!! Archie is really nice too and doesn't rank as high in the popular names last year if that bothers you. I'm not worried about things like that obviously with a Millie and Ruby!!
the trouble is you can be experimentive with girls names and there are dozens of gorgeous ones out there to decide which one you prefer- with boys there isnt as much choice and being experimentive you have to be careful (in my opinion) tht you havent given your little tyke soemthing tht makes him sounds too feminine if you know what i mean; lol - from my experience, iv always found it longer and harder to find a boys name than it is to pick a girls name- we knew for some time the names our girls were going to be, as for the boys - the first too we picked later in the pregnancy and the youngest one was chosen at birth- just seems so much more difficult with boys names
sorry should say him shouting altheeee lol xx
my sons called alfie and i correct anyone that shortens it as i hate alf lol so if u make it cllear his names alfie it will stick before hes even 1. my sons 2 now and all day long all i hear is him shouting its very cute lol
Out of you list i love Nathan and Oliver but like you said Oliver is becoming increasingly popular(there are 2 in my sons class at school), some names of the top of my head are : Oscar, Dylan, Benjamin, Jackson, Ashton, Archie...?
