Rhesus Negative Mum's.

Hi to everyone, I'm Camilla, I'm a Rhesus Negative mum.

At first i had no idea about being Rhesus Negative and what it was but now i am having baby number 4 and know what i have in store!!

I'm really not looking forward to all the blood tests and Anti-D injections again as i am scared of needles!!

Good luck to all the mum's out there that are pregnant with the Rhesus Negative factor, xxx

hi im 22 weeks pregnant with my fourth child im rhesus neg and im used to it all now it has changed since i had my first two they never used to give u the injection till after the baby was born if they werent the same blood type but with my last child and this one you have to have the injections through the pregnancies anyway good luck all if its your first baby not to woory it should all be fine. xx
Hi, I am 18 weeks, firstpregnancy and was told I had to have the anti-D jab. I asked whether it matters what my blood group my husband is and midwife said no. I know that if my hubby is also RH - then baby would be too, and then no need for jab, right? Perhaps they just take a blanket approach?

Hi Jayne! Thank you so much for your answer! Good luck with your pregnancy.
Hiya, im rhesus neg too... with my first child i was given the injection around 28 wks then again after the birth, this time i had the injection at 28 wks and it was a double dose, so was told i wont have another unless the baby's cord blood is different but in anycase im good until i give birth. I dont mind needles etc so have been ok with it all.
Ive only got 5 wks left now, so im counting down the weeks..
Good luck to all of you xx

Hi im rhesus negative and am pregnant for the second time. Im only 11 weeks at the moment. You will still need the injections with your first pregnancy usually at around 28 and 34 weeks and also an extra dose if you have any bleeding during pregnancy. When I was pregnant before I had to have an emergency c section at 27+6 because I had severe pre eclampsia and my son was born the day I was supposed to have my first anti D injection. They checked his blood group and said that as he was also rhesus negative I didn't need to have the anti D. I was panicking cos I thought the injections were really important and I knew that usually you would have them before the baby is born but the hospital staff were very unconcerned and said that it is only in the last few years that they have given anti D as routine to rhesus negative mums. Overall I would say have the injections but dont worry about the RH- thing too much.

Hi! I am also a Rhesus Negative, and I am now 9.5 weeks pregnant with my first child. I just found out about my being Rhesus Negative at my last appointment, and am also desperate to hear from other RH- Mom's about their experiences. My doctor told me that with your first child, you don't need the injections - is this true? AnnaCantrell: May I ask are you now pregnant with your first or second baby? To RH- Mom's that have already given birth to their second or third child: Did you have any complications or difficulties to your body or to your baby during the pregnancy or labor? I am just curious: could this RH- thing be fixed completely if you just have the injections, or should I be more worried the risks? Thanks for your answers, I would really appreciate your advice and experiences. Take care every one.

I am nearly 20 weeks now and my blood group is Rhesus Negative, I have already had to have a small dose of Anti-D as I had a slight vaginal bleed and think I will next have to have some at 28 weeks. The information provided with my blood group information was very little and hard to follow. I have asked my midwife and she did explain it a bit better but it will be nice to chat with some other Moms to be with rhesus negative blood. x
