New curriculum introduced for pre-school children.

Leading experts, including child psychologists, have today suggested that the introduction of a national curriculum aimed at pre-school children could cause both educational and behavioural problems. Under the 'new early-years foundation framework' (EYFS) - which will affect every nursery and kindergarten in England - children aged as young as three will be encouraged to write sentences, understand phonic methods to read complex words and solve problems by using maths. What are your thoughts? Do you think that the Government is placing too much emphasis on a structured academic programme for children as young as three?
