I have to laugh..i told my daughter it started as an egg, which at 6 yrs old she was quite content with. Now at age 8, she worries that having an egg means you HAVE to have babies and she said she's not sure she wants them. I then had to calm her fears and explain the egg gets put there when you decide you want a baby. Now she's satisified but guarenteed the next question will be how does the egg get put there!
Just tell your daughter that you have a baby a growing inside you that grows from a tiny egg..and she may well seem quite happy with that xxx
Lol, I must admit I am not looking forward to telling my 7 year old daughter or my 11 year old son, especially as he is about to have sex education at school so he will know how the baby has got there, how embarassing!! :( We have decided to wait until we have had the first scan to tell them as we feel, especially with my daughter, that if they can see a picture of bubs that it will be easier to accept and also put their minds at rest that it is ok as I lost a baby at 20 weeks 4 years ago which caused them both alot of distress!! I think it is going to take me that long to figure out the words to use when I do tell them anyway!!!xxx

i fell pregnant when my son was 4 that was fun but we told him the truth sort off! told him tht he will be having a brother or a sister etc he seemed happy with that and thought it was funny that i was getting bigger, as i got bigger he asked how the baby got in there and how will it get out!!! but we told him that it starts as an egg and grows slowly over 9 months into a baby and with labour i told him it comes out of a whole near where i wee from he was happy with that, we took him with us for the scans and we read books etc. it all depends on how much info you want to tell your daughter. i have just had a misscarriage and told him all about it i beleive in telling children the truth without scaring them you know your daughter so only you will know how much to tell her...... good luck x
