hi all, my partner has recieved a check for compensation after a road accident last year, its not much just over £1000, we're thinking of paying the council tax for the year. im 29 weeks pregnant with our 2nd baby and the extra money every month would come in handy. what would you do? would you pay off the bill for a year or save the money for a family holiday?? cant decide please help!
Hi, I agree with gemandphil about how you probably wont want to go away for a while but also I think it would give you piece of mind each month to know that this bill is sorted wouldnt it? Which with two young children is obviously important especially with this economic climate. Additionally in having this bill paid you could still save up for a family holiday couldnt you? Each month you could put £75 in savings or £20 a week so you still contribute to your holiday fund and are a bit more comfortable each month with the bill paid. But I think putting it in an account where you probably wont go on holiday for a year is less beneficial than paying off an immediate bill and building the holiday fund during that year- then you can have both?
if it was me i would pay off the council tax if you've got a newborn around your probably not going to have the energy to take a vacation. it's really up to what you think is best and if you have other kids that might enjoy a holiday
