hi girls
just looking for some advice. my husband and i are trying for a baby, however im having a few probs. i do not know when im ovulating as havent had a period for over five months! i went to my GP a while back and he did some bloods and were all fine. ive not gained or lost excessive amounts of weight, im pretty healthy, moderate amount of exercise, so i cant see what the problem is. i came off the pill last august, and had a period end of aug/ beginning sep, so im sure my body should be well sorted now. do you think i should go back to the GP? he just told me to carry on trying as normal, but i cant help but worry a little that something isnt quite right??
xx
After i had my son we started trying for another baby when he was 5 months but i wasn't having periods i'd go a couple months without them, then all of a sudden i'd get one. i went to the doc after 6 months of trying and was told to go bk in another six months, it was really hard to pin point where i'd be ovulating. I tried using ovulation sticks they'd say i was ovulating but i still wasnt getting pregnant, i finally went bk to docs who gave me day 21 progestrone blood tests that came bk i wasn't ovulating even tho the sticks told me i was! i was referred and given fertility drug clomid to bring bk my periods and make them regular, was on that for a year with a break in the middle, my periods came bk and regular every 30 days! It was hard going but totally worth it as i am now 20 weeks pregnant! if after a year of trying you still aren't seeing a regular period i'd go bk to gp and ask to be refered or for blood tests just to put your mind at rest that your ovulating etc. The clomid def worked for me! Hope this helped! Good luck! i'm sure everything is fine and its prob just taking a while to get the pill out of your system! xx
thanks for your advice and stories ladies. yeah, i guess its all just a waiting game. horrible though! lol. I just thought it would happen so easily. :-( xx

Thanks girls.
Yeah it is really hard like you say jane. I just want to know whats going on. oh well, i guess ill give it a little while longer. :-( its difficult because i never know my fertile times etc. x
Yes I'm exactly the same. I haven't bothered buying ovulation kits cos not had a period in so long so would be a waste of money not knowing when to test. Am going to wait and see when my next one is and see if one after that is anything like that one then i have some dates to go by. Waiting 2/3/4 months is not easy though! I tried lookinng for the cervical mucous thingy but no signs of that either. We're just trying at least every other day. Oh and i've bought some cheap preg tests from fertilityplan on ebay. I got 25 for £5 including p & p so 20p each test! People on here say they're great so i'm now testing every Sunday cos i can! I'm hoping that'll keep me from stressing about it and so even if i don't have a period for yonks at least i know if i'm pregnant or not, if you see what i mean. Anyway that's the best i can come up with right now so it'll have to do! Hope this helps x
I came off the pill in Aug too. I had a 29/40/43 day cycle then a 68! I went to the docs on day 60 and she said its perfectly normal and come back in Aug (1 year) if not pregnant. So i know its hard but it can take at least a year for your body to settle again. I'm now on day 17 of my next cycle but don't seem to have ovulated yet so who knows whats going on in there! x
Thanks girls.

if you are really worried then ask to see a diff GP. it can take some time for your body to return to normal after u have been on the pill. i cant speak from experience on that tho as when i came off the pill it didnt really make any diff as i only have a few periods a year anyway. if it put ur mind at ease then i would see a different GP good luck ttc xxx
