Calpol/ Nurofen?

Hi, my little girl (she's 6) has a nasty old temperature which she's had since last night.... she woke up with a bit of an eye infection too so I took her to the doc's this morning. The doctor told me to use calpol and nurofen alternated, but I thought that you used to get told that but now they'd changed it and you weren't allowed. I can't keep up with everything they say, does anyone else know? Thank you!

yeah i just re-read through and realised it was someone elses little girl with sticky eyes. your right though, there's loads going round, we prob see about 3 kids a day with it at the min. thanks for the offer of the help - going to sound bitter but i dont qualify for anything cuz we both work full time :( sure start centres are great tho, my sis-in-law takes her two to loads of the things they do, and i plan to do the same x

Thank you! I think bad eyes must be going round - it only happened last night but it's good to hear from someone in a pharmacy - if I can ever help with whether you would qualify for a sure start maternity grant let me know! (that's pretty much my job - but don't hate me, I don't work in the jobcentre!!!).

hey, spoke the other day about your little girls eye, so glad she's ok. it's perfectly fine to use the two together. start with calpol then the nurofen. dont give anymore than 4 doses of calpol and 3 doses of nurofen in a day. rules have just changed (this week) regarding alot of products but they have changed so that they can only be given to over 6's, so your daughter will be fine anyway (i work in pharmacy) x
