Advice please- light bleeding

I'm 26 weeks and had some light bleeding this morning and wondered if anyone else had experience of this late in pregnancy? (I experienced this early on in both my pregnancies and had no further problems) I spoke to a midwife who said she was quite happy that it was not serious as it was just a few streaks of red blood on toilet paper and the baby's been moving as normal. I'm seeing my own midwife in two weeks so I will discuss it more with her but I was hoping someone might have an idea of what can cause this? I haven't had sex recently so it's not due to that. Thanks!

Thanks for your replies, I spoke to my own midwife today and she's going to get me an appointment at the hospital if it happens again. She thinks it's probably something to do with my cervix and is sure there's nothing wrong with the baby since he's been kicking lots!

I had that when i was 33 weeks pregnant. I was on holiday in Peterborough at time so scared cos i was away from my midwife. went to the maternity unit there who were fab. Had a thorough examination they did give me a speculum exam just to check and it turned out to be a tiny cut just inside the vagina. Baby was fine, moving etc.

Hiya..I had a bit of red/brown discharge a few wks back and asked MW. I had sex a day b4 so she thought it might have been due to that or I might have a lesion on my cervix (not sure what causes that). Either way she said as long as baby moving around and I dont have pain, not to worry. xx

This happened to me twice - the first at 35 weeks and the second time at 37 weeks. Both times I called the MW who got me to go into hospital, and both times after hours of waiting around to be seen then hooked up to all the monitors, it turned out everything was fine. At the time it was really scary and I still have no idea why it happened, but as long as baby's moving ok and the midwife's happy then try not to panic!
