I'm now 11 days overdue and I am being induced tomorrow... Booked in for 3:30pm.
Part of me feels really disappointed, because it's not being done naturally, is this normal?
I don't know what to expect at all. I've read and read and read so many articles on being induced, the different ways and everything, but I don't know how to just keep calm and get some sleep tonight before the big day.
I'm scared knowing it's all been planned for me, so tomorrow, whether I like it or not, it's happening...

I know exactly how you're feeling, but I went into hospital thinking I was going to be induced and ended up waiting 4 days as they had no space in the delivery suite. Needless to say, by the end of 4 days thinking I was just a few hours away from giving birth all the time, I was very very fed up and any disappointment I felt had disappeared. That being said, I'd really like to avoid being induced again. It depends what they do as to whether your labour will still be natural or not. If you have a sweep or they break your waters then things might start without you having to go on a drip and it's all in your body's court then, but if you have to go on the drip then it gets going quite quickly and you don't have so much freedom to move around etc (although still not too bad). I can understand your nerves and it's impossible to get good sleep when tomorrow is going to be the most exhausting/scary/rewarding/amazing day of your life, but if you can find ways to relax and definitely try to spend quality time with hubby as it will be a while before you get more! There's still 24 hours to get things moving on your own as well, so you could always try the usuals - sex, curry, long walk etc as these will have double benefits of being enjoyable and taking your mind off the wait, and also maybe helping your body do it on its own! Good luck, and remember if you really don't want to be induced, they can't force you.
Good luck...... How exciting you will get to meet your little buba tomorrow........ Try to relax and think about the end result.........:)Jai xx

Hi I am also 11 days overdue and am being induced tomorrow at 4pm!! I am really nervous now......................
The midwife tried to do a sweep last Monday but my cervix was still to far back, just been back to the hosptial today for them to try another sweep and my cervix is exactly the same!! Now i am convinced i am going to have to get a section.
Good luck babyroberts, hope everything goes well for you
I don't have any experience but have heard induction can go either way just as if you went into labour naturally. Sometimes it can take a while and sometimes it happens quickly. Just try and get some rest and take things as they come as you would if things started naturally. Try to stay focused on the end result and how exciting it is that you're finally going to get to meet your baby!! Good luck for tomorrow xx
hi i dnt know wot its like 2 b induced and so maybe wot i have 2 say wont help alot, but i think its perfectly normal 4 u 2 b feeling this way, just try and think positivly about it as u will still b giving birth naturally and u will b meeting ur beautiful baby 2mos, try and think of it being ur due date and make sure uve got everything ready, have a nice relaxing bath and do something that relaxs u most hope ive helped a bit though gud luck 4 2mos xx
Hey,
It was planned that i would be induced with my little one coz i was overdue but luckily i went into labour myself 2 days before i was meant to go in! I wasn't disappointed about possibly having to be induced because it was still likely to be a 'natural' birth but i hated the idea of knowing that on that day i was going to have a baby!! i was so much more relaxed when i went into labour myself coz it was happening out of the blue and i had no choice but to get on with it! Try not to feel disappointed because nobody knows whats going to happen anyway..even tho i went into labour myself i ended up having to have an emergency c-section so no matter what way u go unfortunately u can't guarentee that things will go smoothly and the way u have planned. Try to get as much rest as u can tho for ur big day! Good luck xx
