Chilling out.

Hi, just wondered if anyone has any ways that they managed to relax a bit more while trying for a bubba. I have been told there is actually only about 3 days a cycle when you can get pregnant. If I think like that then it is really unlikely that I'll get pregnant this month. Wierdly tho that has helped me chill ouot. It's like, 'well, it's bound not to happen this month so I may as well just enjoy myself (and my oh! lol!) and forget it!' I still feel positive that I will get pregnant but it has helped me put it into perspective that not getting pregnent is not my fault, or a problem. It's just unlikely each month. Having said that I haven't been trying that long so I just wondered how others chilled out or if it's just a state of mind?

Thanks all for your posts. It is still hard not to have 'baby' thoughts but I am definately more chilled. And when I do start to go mad I come on here instead to keep from sending my brain into baby obsession freefall!
But the big plus about chillin out is the sex is more fun (too much info i know lol! - but it is and I would recommend chilling out now to anyone!) x

I think it's much easier to conceive if you're not really trying to! I've been surprised (but pleased!) both times and we've always just gone with the flow, leave it up to nature to sort itself out!!

We stopped trying after 6 months as the hubster reckoned I was getting obsessed and decided to just be happy with my 2 kids from my previous marriage and I fell pregnant the next month!! We are over the moon as you can imagine but this pregnancy has been hell for me so far, morning sickness so bad I ended up in hospital on a drip at one point!! :( still being sick now and I am 14 weeks which is taking a little of the specialness of being pregnant away for me so although pregnancy is a miracle when it happens, make the most of not being pregnant and feeling well just incase you end up like me when it does happen!! :) xx

Hiya Im more relaxed about trying then I have ever been before! I cam off the pill last year and after 4 months of trying I feel pregnant then misscarried in January I was so stressed about getting pregnant and while I was that you dont get time to enjoy it! I have been trying now for 2 months to get pregnant after the misscariage and I now think that it will happen when its ment to happen and you cant force it! like they say everything happens for a reason!! People find aswell when you relax about trying for a baby it happens. I know this lady who tried for 8 years to get her BFP and was convinced every month she was preg but after 8 years of it not happening she said she was giving up and then thats when she fell pregnant! I hope this makes u feel better and u get ur BFP soon !!!!! xxxxxxxx

Hi hun, we were ttc for 11 months and it was only when we bought our house that i fell pregnant. We moved in 3 days before my BFP lol. I had just been so busy making sure the mortgage was going through and picking wallpaper - the usual girlie stuff! I completely put ttc to the back of my mind and hey presto - im sure my period was due yesterday... so off i went to tesco and bought a test :) If you can put it to the back of your mind it really does help i believe. Remember that there is only 3 - 5 days a month that you are most fertile, not only that but you only have something like a 15% chance of falling every month anyway. Enjoy the fun of trying as we you fall the last thing on your mind is humpy-pumpy lol xx

This i my 5th cycle of ttc and Im a lot more relaxed about the whole thing these past two cycles before that I was really stressed out, and getting really upset and obsessed about it. Now its a blessing if I get a BFP if not I get to put in some going practice getting there, I know it will happen when the time is right. It has been hard as I like to be in control but my body and OH's body are doing the control busniess some im just leaving it up to them LOL

Hey ya! We had been trying for about 4 months before I finally concieved. Wr were trying every day, then every other day, on the correct days of my cycle and started to get bit stressed and caught up with it all and everyone around us was pregnant. We had one weekend away in a hotel for friends wedding, forgot about 'trying' for once and enjoyed the moment (wink, wink!) I even managed two glasses of wine ( i stopped drinking 4 months before hoping it would help). As its happens this one night, completely out of my 'good time' and after relaxing with a drink it worked and now expecting in August. There is hope for you all. A hint try aromotherapy oils in your bath when you have a long soak, it always let me relax. Good luck.
