My LO was super quick with rolling over, crawling etc and was cruising around confidently at 8 months on the furniture so we assumed she'd walk early too, but now at nearly 15 months she still doesn't stand up or walk without support and has only this past week shown any sign of even wanting to walk with her push along toy! I think after crawling for more than half her life she's pretty set in her ways!!! I think the h/vs say no cause for concern unless they're still not walking at 18 months or beyond so I certainly wouldn't push it. They all do it in their own time!

Haha Harley16, your son sounds just like my daughter - she only commando crawled until she was almost 12 months, and then discovered bear crawling and started scuttling all over the place like a tarantula. She's now almost 14 months and can't walk without holding onto furniture or a leg or hands or something. She is much more interested in climbing - she's like a monkey - she will climb anything and everything, including two flights of curving marble stairs - aaargh!

My first daughter started walking at 15 months and my youngest at 17 months. Most babies don't start walking until at least 12 months.

my youngest is nearly 15 months and shes still not walking! 9 months is far too early to be walking unaided! if i were you i wouldn't worry. my eldest took her first steps just after her first birthday and my youngest is walking round the furniture and standing up on her own but not walking by herself yet. you should only worry if she gets to about 16 months and shes still only crawling (not 'cruzing' round furniture or standing up unsupported). if you'r still usure then ask you'r health visitor but honestly i don't think you need to be worrying just yet. :->
