Really Worried - Starting to loose hope - Cysts In Pregnancy :-( HELP?

All my dates say that I am around 8 weeks pregnant but yesterday I had really bad abdominal pain and a little blood I have had a misscarriage before so thought this was it again. I rang my EPU and they said to go in this morning for a scan to make sure eerythiing was O.k. When I went for my scan they said that the 'baby' was only 4-5 weeks in size but I had a large 6cm Cyst on the right side. I had to have some blood tests and have to go back n sunday for some more to see if my hormone levels double which they should every 2 days, and if they do I am 4-5 weeks pregnant not 8 (which does not match up with my dates) if they stay the same the pregnancy is more than likely ectopic and if they go down I am in the process of another m/c I've lost all hope for the baby as I know my dates are right but am really worried about the cyst as they looked shocked at the size. has anybody else had a cyst like this? is it normal? It is causing me a lot of pain and have been told I will be referred to Gynae to keep an eye on it. they really haven't explained much to me at the hospital today and I have come away more worried if anybody has had a similar experience could you please let me know put my mind at ease xx
