Hi, congratulations to you and happy new year, OK make your appointment with the Gp who will refer you to the midwife. If you feel sick rich tea biscuits are good because they are so plain, I used to have a packet upstairs downstairs by the bed in the car at work and kind of everywhere. If your tired have a rest, this first few weeks can make you feel worn out. I have 4 children so don't let feeling rough put you off it's not that bad or I wouldn't have had so many.

hi im gemma 21 years old and just found out that im pregnant im only four - five weeks and this is my first baby.
is there any tips any mums can give me as im not sure what i should and sholdn't be doing x
Hi there, Im am also 21 yrs old. 10 weeks pregnant!
This site has been a godsend as you can ask all the odd and embarassing questions!!!
Try not to listen to too many advisors - a neighbour (who has no kids) told me that you werent allowed to eat chewing gum or branston pickle?????? Yeah, ok?
If you dont already eat breakfast, try to start as i find it helps settle your tummy if you do get sick. Cereal is probably best for me, the thought of a fry up makes me heave!!!As oopsiedaisy said, try to enjoy it. Sometimes its hard as we all get a bit tired and stressed out but just eat what you fancy and perhaps try to eat more fruit and veg. I found this helps as i get tired a lot. Oh, and if you drink tea, coffee or coca cola, try to drink de-caf! I have been keeping a food diary as a lot of my usual fav's i cant stand at the moment! Not fair! Best of luck to you!!! Congratulations sweetie!!! The main thing I found is to go with your natural instinct. Some people will tell you not to over exert yourself, to stay in bed, put your feet up but go by how your feeling - women never used toi have the luxury of pregnancy testing years ago so carried on as normal, so if you feel like doing something do it cuz the baby will be better if your happy and relaxed!!!
Start taking folic acid and be carefuk with your diet. Don't eat raw fish, liver, blue cheeses and be careful around products that contain raw eggs. If you haven't already make an appointment with your midwife and she'll talk you through things. If you start to have sickness try to eat little and often, I found a packet of crackers was always good if I was feeling sick or a ginger biscuit settles your stomach.
Don't to forget to enjoy it though!!! Good luck and don't forget to keep us posted
