hi hun this sort of thing is possible. it happened to my sister in law. however i dont think your friend is being entirely honest about the story behind it. my sister in law changed her mind after taking the first tablet, the doctor said she could see how the pregnancy went bur warned her she would prob miscarry. however she did have a little girl, she was extremely small and had a few probs at first, breathing ect. but she runs around with the best of them now!
Hi, I heard about women changing their mind "half way through" the medical abortion with refusing to take the second tablet, and some sources suggest that it could affect the growth of the fetus, or even the health, whilst others say, it doesnt. Women do go on to have healthy babies after this, however, if she said she went through with the abortion, then she basically either induced a miscarriage, or had it "surgically" removed. When you miscarry, you normally know about it, one way or another, either because of severe pain, dull aches, or mostly because you bleed, and like someone else said the body then gets rid of the product as its now dead foreign tissue (which is what the second tablet induces). I've also heard about doctors making mistakes when surgically aborting, however, even that is quite rare, and usually means the fetus is then "damaged" because of the procedure, or there were twins and one was forgotten. I've not heard about what you describe,and it does sound weird, but as someone else said, it would be quite a sick thing to make up. Like, how did she explain they were proceeding from here. Abnormaly growth in a fetus is something that they are usually very concerned about, so has she mentioned whats happening from here on?
I wouldn't say she's lying per se, sometimes the weirdest things happen, but it does sound a bit strange. I'd ask her carefully, about whats going to happen now, and what happened etc... thats the only way to find out for sure.

I haven't heard of anything like this happen before. do you think she knew she was pregnant all along, and couldn't go along with the abortion but didn't want to tell anyone? might just be my imgaination but i could be possible. xx
It sounds a little strange to me how that could have happened. When you have a abortion by a tablet, you're giving one to stop the growth then two days later you're giving one to make your uterus contract, when you're giving the tablet to make your uterus contract, you have to stay in hospital until the products have passed and they only let you leave ones THEY see that everything had passed, if it hasnt passed you have surgery to get it out :s xx
I have a friend, she's not much of a friend just lately but anyway, at christmas she told me she was pregnant. I was so happy for her and she said she was happy too, she picked out names and everything but on 23rd december she told me she had had ano abortion. I was shocked but she said the doctor had advised it as she had problems with her womb. anyway we planned a big night out in march because we hadnt been out together in years because of babies and she had to cancel on the monday before because she said she was pregnant again and she had beed for a scan, at the scan they told her she was 5 months pregnant but the abortion tablet she had taken had stopped the growth of the baby even though it was still developing (basically it was tiny 2 month size baby 5 month developed)I wasnt sure I believed her 1st time around about being pregnant but this really made me wonder, has anyone ever heard of this happening before or do we think she is lying?
i have heard of the tablet not working but dont happen very often. i suppose it could affect the baby's development but i doubt it. your body has a way of telling if a baby isnt going to survive and if baby's growth was that affected i would have thought she would have had an m/c? no expert though. the real question is: why would you think she would lie bout this? thats very twisted if she has x x
sounds a wee bit strange! normally u ave 2 do a pregnancy test a week l8r afta abortion as far as im aware! anyway, iv neva known the docs doin an abortion not doin rite n leavin baby in there! ask 2 c scan pic! sounds very strange hun! but i suppose strange things in life do happen! id prob ask her out rite if she really is preg! jus say ur abit confused n it sounds crazy! xxxx
With an abortion (well when my mate had one) she was told to take a Pregnancy test a week later to make sure everything had been successful, as if it hadnt she would have had to go in for a D/C
I've never heard of this before, but I did read in a magazine of the same thing happening to a women! xxx
