My 10 month old has started waking at night and during the day with screaming when she was sleeping through. She was sleeping until she got ill with S & D at the end of easter and since then wakes screaming every night.
I have spend many evenings arguing with my OH because of it and I feel so stressed. I sometimes feel as if I'm a bad mother friends that it may be due to teething or separation anxiety but would like advise on how to get through it.
I have recently gone back to work as well so think that might have something to do with it as well. I have tried sitting in her room so she can see me, holding her hand, moving gradually away and leaving her to cry checking at 5 mins at first then increasing it 5 mins every time. She has normally gone to sleep by the end of 15mins but this is difficult at 2am. She has become very clingy as well.
Any advise would be great.
No advice im afraid but thought it might be a bit comforting for you to know your not the only one having sleepless nights at the mo! My Lo is nine months and like you i have just returned to work, since day one of me going back to work he has woken frequently throughout the night screamimg after sleeping through for ages! i have been wondering if its seperation anxiety too, especially as he is very clingy during the day now.
during the night i leave him for a few minutes before going into him and when i do i just give him his dummy, lay him back down (he has learnt to stand up in his cot), put his music box on and hope for the best! sometimes it works for an hour or more, sometimes about 10 minutes......kids like to keep you guessing eh?!
Fingers crossed that our little ones soon grow out of it, i neeeeeed sleep lol! good luck xx
