hi i have a very bad cold, headache, sore throat and sore chest! i know you cant take many remedies for it but does any one know of anything i can take as im nearly 6 weeks pregnant and dont wanna harm baby!!! xxx
When you are pregnant you need to consult your GP or a pharmacist about any medications, prescription or over the counter, which you are taking or planning to take. This includes herbal remedies and supplements. I would suggest that if you don’t feel better soon or you have a temperature you need to speak to your midwife or GP in the mean time you could go to the local pharmacy and ask for advice.
Try to rest as much as possible and eat small regular meals and snacks. Fruit and vegetables are rich in vitamins and minerals and help to support your immune system fight off the infection, so try to include at least 5 portions a day. Drinking hot drinks can help to sooth a sore throat.
