I think you should just go with the name you originally liked & had already picked out for a boy, its lovely and if you name him anything else you might always think in your head ( I wish I had've just gone with Eli james) up to you of coarse xxx
What about Ellis? It coul still be shortened to Eli if you wanted but would also give you an alternative.
