thanks just got back and it was not as bad as i thought it was going to be. but on the up side the midwife sed that he was in a position and that she didnt think that it would be long, so fingers crossed if nothing happens at least i know i have an app on the 4/5/09 to be induced.

I had one with my daughter. Withing 24 hours she was here. I will say though i was 10 days overdue, been having contractions for weeks anyway but she was quick from waters breaking to birth was 2 1/2 hours. Not bad.

Good luck hope it works for you, it's the worst thing being overdue but it's all worth it.

Hi there, I've now had two, a week apart. It's uncomfortable but not painful...use your labour breathing to relax your muscles and it goes much easier. Neither of mine worked. At the first my cervix wasn't even thinned. At the second I was 2cm dilated. But that was on thursday last week and it still didn't work. Don't go in expecting it to work or you'll be really disappointed. If it does then great, but dont' EXPECT it. I've got another on Thursday when I'll be 41+1. I don't expect it to work even then. Sorry not to be more positive. Ont he up side. It's not very painful...not much worse than a smear and much less "mechanical"...I held a conversation through both so not painful enough to stop me chatting...and you may as well give it a go since being overdue is mighty uncomfortable. Good luck. Alex
