A friend of mine paid £300 for a 4d scan which confirmed she was having a boy, at delivery she found she had a girl! Can't believe you'd spend that much money and get it wrong. oops.

When i had my scan the sonographer told me that legally the sonographer cannot tell you with 100% certainty that yes it is a boy or a girl because of previous lawsuits where parents have sued after being given the wrong sex of their baby so now all they can say is yes 90% sure it is boy or girl but we may still be wrong. However the majority of the time they are right of course and i think its only when they tell you its a boy you will have to worry about them being wrong as it could always be the cord in the wrong place at the time your having a scan if they tell you your having a girl its less likely that boys bits will be hiding i would imagine hope this helps

I have been told I am having a girl and by looking at the shape of my belly i would say its a girl! i know people that have been told they are expecting a girl but they end up having a boy and vise versa. I bought lots of pink things so i hope it is a girl

i had a 16 wk scan and she was determined it was a girl but up the hospital the sonographer said they can't really tell if it's a girl that early in the pregnancy as it's hard to see

I've heard of this happening as well, so I think it's better to wait until nearer the birth before buying lots of baby clothes.

i have two daughters 4 and 3 my second daughter Annalise's scan showed that she was a boy so i did the normal thing went out bought all the blue items thought of boys names you know the normal things you would do... then i had one of those cool 4d scans around 32 weeks and they asked if i knew what it was so i said boy... they checked and i was gobsmacked it was a little girl i was quite devasted at first i had got used to the idea of having a boy and now i had to get used to it being a girl... im now pregnant with my 3rd at my 20wk scan they said she was a girl and because once bitten twice shy i wouldn't go and buy pink luckily i had another 4d scan today and they too say she is a girl so yeah it can happen

I knew myself that I was having a boy,such a strong instinct,then at my 20wk scan I said I thought I was having a boy and the sonographer confirmed it by nudging her assistant and nodding yes,I saw this out of the corner of my eye!.
I also came across a website recently that helps U interpret Ur scan pics..I think its just for fun and depends on way baby is lying whether it wants to flaunt it or is camera shy,but U can give it a go- its "http://pregnancy.about.com".
When my son came out I was delighted Id been right,as I'd also bought cute blue wellies :)

friends of ours were told they were having a girl and they had a little boy so i wouldn't trust the scans inless you pay for the 4d scan i had that and it was amazing and he looked exactly how he did on scan when he was born
