my first baby was a neat 7LB 2OZ wich i had a rather difficult labour with,then my second baby was quite a bit bigger at 9LB 8OZ wich was an even more traumatic delivery...im now pregnant with number 3 and really hoping that subsequent babies are not generally bigger because i dont think my mind could cope with recovering from another 3rd degree tear,but my midwife does'nt think that 2 difficult deliverys are proof enough that a C,section would be a better option for me my GP thinks there should be no probs for me having a c,section after my previous births but my midwife really does'nt want to listen what other choices do i have???
Are subsequent babies always bigger?
Each pregnancy for every woman will vary. However, subsequent babies due tend to be larger and show earlier as a rule of thumb.
my first girl was 10 days late, weighed 9lb 8oz i had a third degree tare and lots of other minor scratches (from forceps and ventuose). it was actually awful, i was scared to even have sex for a little over a yr! it might sound dramatic but i genuinely felt traumatised!
but my second girl was 2 days early and weighed 7lb 11oz, i had a minor tare but i was so pleased that i braved another natural birth! it was actually wonderful!

My 1st daughter was born 12 days late at 8lbs 13oz, my second, a son was also 12 days late at 8lb 2oz, my 3rd child, a girl was 9 days early at 6lb 15oz and 4th, a boy, 2 weeks early at 8lb 1oz, i am due to have my 5th also a boy on 28th of this month and feel that he is already alot bigger than any of my previous children, so we will see. x

for me they definetly didnt get bigger. my 1st (boy) was 8 days late and 8lb 12oz. my 2nd which was a girl was born on her due date and was 8lb 10oz and my 3rd, born a day early was 8lb 1oz, so mine went the opposite way and got smaller xxx

no they arent always bigger. my eldest was 11lb, second was 9lb 8, third was 9lb 12, fourth was 11lb 11 and needless to say i was petrified about having a mini giant on baby number 5 so begged for a c which i had..and lil teddy was only 7lb 15! i feel a little guilty for having a c now and not giving birth naturally. IF a c is truly what you want, then ask gp to book you in with a consultant who ultimatly gives you the go ahead..its not up to the midwife. you actually have a pretty good reason to want a C xx
My baby boys were 9lb 9 1/2oz (2 weeks late), 7lb 6oz (born on due date), 10lb 1oz (2 weeks early). So who know what you will have!!!!!!
hi all my 1st was 9lb 8oz girl on due date(induced),
2nd was 7lb 10oz girl week early!! so dont think it always is as people think bigger babies the more u have x
