Our little girl is two weeks old and seems to hate doing a poo! She really cries and looks like she's in pain. Her poo is soft and she fills her nappy quite well (sorry if tmi!!) and the health visitor and midwife didn't seem concerned and said it was quite common for newborns to cry when pooing.
Has anyone else experienced this or do you think I should get a second opinion? She is feeding well and seems fine otherwise.
Any advice?

Thanks everyone, I'll see how she goes with the boiled water and if it doesn't improve I'll change her milk.

hiya. my baby girl is 2 weeks old on wednesday and shes been suffering abit in the poo department. ive been told to give her cooled bolied water and shes back to normal now. i give her about 5 oz a day in between all her feeds and it keeps her smiley and not crying!! xx
my h/v told me this as well tht its common fir them t cry when pooin but my lil boy used t make this horrible noise like it was hurting him so changed his milk and he's been fab ever since. some milks jus don't agree with all babies x
yeah my friend n her lil girl went thru this n if i remem my sis lil girl wld only poo once a week! duno y tho! my friend breast fed her lil girl n my sis bottle fed, i ave heard that sum breast fed babys do sumtimes ave probs tryin 2 go! but i dont really no how true this is! how abt ringin the hospital where u had her! i ring mine all the time cuz they give beta advice than my community midwife n hv! xxxxx
