I'm loving the idea's of massage, foot reflexology etc. I would love to train for similar stuff.
My plan is to teach part-time and start tutoring... gradually as tutoring takes off... I can stop teaching and then focus on learning some massage for daytime clients... then gradually let massage and some similar courses take over... maybe even some Alexander Technique, though it takes years to train for... exciting though!!!
Will have to wait and see!
hiya!
yeah im really excited about it all!! Ive seen a reflexology course too, but its quite a distance from my home, and also the environemnt didnt look as friendly. so i think, im going to go with th massage course first, which is about 6 months and only down the road from my home. then afterwards they also offer reflexology courses but you have to have a massage qualification first to do it, think ill do that afterwards!! im feeling much happier now, knowing i wont have to be at my current work a whole lot longer. still looking for something at the moment though, would be nice to leave if i could!!
cool i like your idea of part time! whats the alexander technique?? ill have to look that up!xx

Lol I really quite like it, plus it makes you sound exotic, like you have secret knowledge of the ancient techniques! But yeh I just think youre unlikely to start making money until you have several of those short courses done whereas with one long course you can do that and add other smaller treatments.

But if youre in a clinic with other people like a chiropractor or acupuncturist youd just need youre name anyway.
haha ancient techniques! i like it! hmm ill have a think about the name! :-) anymore on yours?
i think ideally id like to start out at my house and go to peoples places, see how i get on and then go from there/ we'll see. theres no rush, now that i can see something to focus on.
right im going to walk the pooches and then get showered! we are meant to be off to a garden party in hertfordshire. and im driving there! not risking being sick again lol! catch you later on luvy!xx have a nice day

this is true paige. i might look into the reflexology course first, its just quite a long one.
i was thinking i could do some of the small ones first and then just cut down my hours at my current job. but nothings decided yet for sure, i need to sit down and think about it all properly. i spoke to my husband and my mum about it lastnight and they think this route of complimentary therapies is a good one, and they even mentioned how happy i looked just talking about it!! lol.
those small courses i mentioned, they are certified and you can register with the "complimentary medical association" and they will cover you.
so ive got a few options, just need to think them through.
as for the name, im still thinking lol. i couldnt really have my surname in there somewhere, doesnt really have a good ring. lol "veerasamys therapies!" haha xxx

What you need is to rent a room in a practice/surgery/clinic etc. I like places that arent trying to have catchy/creative names for treatment like mine is The ''Town'' Chiropractic Clinic, and i trust places like this more - that arent trying too hard. Or something with a surname like The ''Surname'' Surgery etc. And then they explain what they do.

Maybe you should start with something like massage or reflexology - a biggy - cos then you can get a solid income coming in. Normally people visit well trained technicians for hopi ear candling/hot stone therapy etc. when theyve seen that you do this as well as a more 'complex' main section of treatment. Plus you need to be apart of some association to practice dont you? and do a certain number of hours practice to be certified.

oooh i like the last layer!! thats very catchy!
well, what im planning to do is, start with the one day hopi ear candling course which is two days. you then get a diploma certificate in that. then after that i think ill do indian head massage, which is a day long course. i would then like to do other courses, which are longer, like reflxology possibly and normal massage possibly. also hot stone therapy, which is quite a short course. i would like to use these as a home based business, or also going to people places, as i think i wouldnt make enough money with a shop to start with? xxx

Lol the last layer!!! All good pastries are layered. Well explain the idea behind yours - is it going to be all sorts then you could have one like Whole Happiness as youre treating everything? Ill think..
