Do babies need to drink more water in hot weather? Is it possible to give them too much? My 8 month old drinks up to 15oz (400ml) of water a day as well as his usual meals and milk on really hot days. On not so hot days he'll only drink about 6oz of water, and I have to encourage him to drink.

Yes, babies do need more fluids on hot days. If your baby is asking for more fluids then be led by him. You’re giving him water which is great. Juices will rot his teeth and can affect his appetite. It sounds like he is adjusting his fluid intake depending on the weather which is great as he will lose more fluids on hot days and needs extra drinks to replace them.

I would not worry about it my son is the same some days he drinks loads and other days i feel like its a battle to get a drop in him. I am sure he will drink when he needs to. Don't think they can drink to much though.
Hope that helps
