small baby

I have just had a growth scan at 37 weeks, my baby is just on the parameters of normal but very small. I now have to have 2 check ups a week inc scan and monitor. I am only 4ft 10, so it would figure that I wouldn't have a huge baby but I am worried about the risks that there are to the baby being small and is it to late to kick my 6 cigarette a day habit - ironically, I want to smoke more at the moment as I am very worried!
