Any suggestions to get rid of cravings???

Before I found out I was pregnant I was a smoker, not heavy between 6-8 per day. As soon as I found out I stopped but I am finding it really difficult! I find espcially difficult after lunch time at work and in the evenings. Has anyone else been through this and does anyone have any ideas to get rid of the cravings??

Someone told me it can be more stressfull to just give up straight away but I really want to do it if I can. Its so hard though, I know lots of people that have smoked through the whole pregnancies xx
its great that u r trying but i reckon that if u were only smokin 6-8 a day it shouldnt b more stressful 2 quit, I smoked from he age of 14 (im 25 now) but quit straight awy when i got pregnant with my daughter in 2003 but stupidly started again after she was born but i have mananged 2 quit again as soon as i found out i was pregnant with baby (im nearly 12 weeks). I know alot of woman say that they smoked all the way thru and went on to have healthy babies but in my opinion the risks of smokin in no way outway the so called benefits, cause there r no benefits. It is hard but u have 2 remind yourself (like i did) that u alone r in total control of your developing baby and the baby does not want smoke in its bloodstream. I hope u dont think im lecturin u, these r only things i have said to myself when iv felt like smokin. The lollipop idea is a good one and also i found ice cubes helped, or brushin my teeth as soon as id eaten. I hpe u manage 2 keep off them, u will feel so proud of yourself when u see your baby and know that u gave it the best possible start in life, good luck xx

Thanks for the advice, I will definitely give the lollipops a try! I haven't been assigned a midwife yet as have to go back to me GP next week but when I go I will ask him if they can help.

Thanks again xxx
