Carrying on from the moses basket v cot question: mattresses?

My mother has bought a 2nd hand moses basket, in great condition apparently (not seen it yet) and I don't know whether I should be getting a replacement mattress for it? It currently has a foam one which has been washed but is this enough - I know everyone recommends a new mattress for cots so is this the case for moses baskets too? Seems logical??

I would buy a new moses basket mattress just to be on the safe side. They aren't expensive and at least you know if it's new that it is clean. My babies were sick quite a bit in their moses baskets in the early days so I wouldn't lend it to anyone else! Hope this helps!
