I have only seen it as Eli, short for Elijah or Elias. I really like the name though.
I am an ellie an when i first looked at yr post i thought why r u giving a boy a girls name lol...elye is def better an such a lovely name. Having just had my baby an listened to what the other mums have called their lo's this is one that wasnt on my post natal ward so will be quite unusual.

i fink Elye is realy sweet and its a name that will be fine wen hes older 2!! i fink spellin it Elye is better as Eli looks bit like ellie!? my opinon tho!sum1 else mite nt fink so! def a lvely name and diff 2!! xx

hi ya i have 51/2 weeks left (and counting!!) im having a little boy and i think i have chosen the name Elye james pannell still not sure though what do u all think honest opinons please! also what about the spelling? Elye or Eli? my daughters name is layci-louise. thanks girlies xx
