Amnio results are back. Not good. :(

hey, i had the same symptoms, 2 sperm 1 egg but mine was a molar pregnancy, baby had no heart beat as there was too mant chromosomes from my husband, was told that no molar baby has ever survived purely because there is no baby, it was devestating so i know how you feel. I have never heard of the condition affecting your poor little one but it sounds identical to my molar pregnancy, they are really rare and only affect 1 in 250,000 (or more) babies worldwide. there is a feature on molar prgnancies somewhere on gurgle if you want to read more on them. im so sorry for you and your baby.xx

aww im so sorry to hear that was hoping u may get some good news! have u decided what ur going to do yet? i cant imagine how u must be feeling but i guess now u know what caused it means u now know its not something that cud happen again as its so rare. my heart really goes out to you and u seem to be so brave too. hope u find some peace in knowing it was totally out of ur control lots of love to u and ur partner and ur poor unique little unborn baby xxx

I got prelim test results yesterday from amnio done on tuesday. Little baby has TRIPLOIDY, a very rare lethal chromosomal disorder. Basically 2 sperm have fertilized the egg at the very same time and my little baby has 69 chromosomes instead of the usual 46 that makes a human. Seemingly it is a spodadic event and there are only 17 citations of it in the world. Doc was very blunt on the phone and told me that it's incompatable with life and baby with die one way or the other. Which I thought was a little harsh!! Doc wants to talk to both of us on tuesday. Has anyone ever heard of this? Ive searched the net for info on this and there isnt really alot on it. Apparently we would have had better odds on winning the lotto than this happening. Just wanted to update all the lovely people who replied to my very unwell little baby conversation. Thanks so much girls. x x x
