My daughter has only just come out of pull ups at night. She was 4 and a half when we did it (at Easter) and only had two accidents both in the first two weeks. We still take her to the toilet just before we go to bed. You could just give it a go and see how she gets on. You should try and make sure she doesn't have a drink within an hour of bedtime. My daughter does hence the trip to the toilet before we go to bed!! The summer months are better for washing sheets e.t.c. We left it so late as more often than not her pull ups were wet every morning.

Many children take a long time to be dry at night. In fact many are still in nappies at night when they go to school. If she is still really wet at night, then she’s probably not ready to go all night without weeing. You can try leaving her nappy off for a few nights, as sometimes children will wee if they have a nappy on and having the sensation of being wet may help her. If after a few nights she is still really wet, just put her back in her nappies as she is obviously not ready. You can keep trying this every few months until she is ready. Never get upset with her if she does wet the bed, it is only an accident. Also try avoiding dark coloured fluids (eg blackcurrant) and fizzy drinks, as these irritate the bladder and make the bladder need to empty more often. It’s important to let her have lots of drinks during the day as this way her bladder gets used to holding larger volumes of fluid. You can reduce fluids for the last hour before bed and ensure she empties her bladder properly before bed- some children only have a quick wee and don’t empty their bladder completely. Try sitting her on the toilet, then brush her teeth and then sit her on the toilet again.
Good luck with it, but don’t worry if she’s not ready because it’s really not a problem at this age.
