if we dont get it now, we'll get it in the flu season-ie winter and thats when our immune systems are at its lowest. I really dont want it atall..but maybe best to have it sooner rather than later? xx
thing is tho might not get it at all. is there a good time to get swine flu? we're in the middle of intense heatwave and its meant to be getting hotter and staying that way rest of summer. is nursing your kids swine flu easier on them in the summer with unbearable heat or in the winter when they'll come down with colds and other nasty viruses? im still not convinced there is anything to worry bout- yes people have died but most have been ok apart from a nasty flu virus, no worse apparently than what we get in this country every single winter. think i read somewhere there was like 18,000 flu related deaths last winter, most of those would have been the very old and frail or even sadder the very young and already poorly. x x

thats ok hun dont worry. i think there has been mass hysteria myself (bludy sun newspaper lol) which is why i'm not overly worried bout my daughter getting it, same way i dont lie awake at night worrying shes gonna catch regular flu either, ive heard swine flu aint much different and thousands die every winter from "normal" flu. things like chicken pox is different though. i'd have no issue sending her to a pox party better she gets it now than when she's an adult or with lousy timing like right in middle of her GCSEs orsomething equally important! x x

One thing I think everyone is forgetting, we might not actually get it. The media is constantly scare-mongering. Yes swine flu is around just now along with many other things, including regular flu. Not every single person in Britain is going to get it. Those who have died have had other things wrong with them. If (not when) we get it then we just have to deal with it. You can't go through life being convinced that you are going to catch everything that is going around. I am really sorry if I have upset anyone with my comments, but I just want to express my opinion.

BUT (we could be here all day - me desperately trying to prove 'something' lmaao), if its as contagious as they all say and you went to one of these 'parties'; you pretty much know they're gunna start getting symptoms soon, so then you could keep away from everyone.
The news kept saying you dont even have to be close to the person to get it, so you'll know basically they;ve got it (just with now symptoms yet), so that you now dont need to pass it on.
Your more likely to pass it on without knowing tbh.
Indy is very much like that, she never gets ill! Apart from when she does, she gets it really bad (scottish and italian mix lol!).

Aw god thats awful, how did she know he had it? xxx
he had a temp and said he couldnt open his eyes, the light hurt them. he was violently sick several times and had a small seizure. his mum phoned nhs direct and they said was stomach flu and refused to send a doctor out. she wasnt happy so took him dwn a and e hoping they could help aleast with seizure and they admitted him straight away. 10 minutes after they got there the purple rash appeared, i think it was only his back. he is very lucky that he is now recovering well with no longterm effects.

as it happens 2 little girls i know dont have swine flu as yet but their school has been closed this week due to one child having it and few other suspected cases so lily may well get it anyway. like i said i'm not too worried it wont be pleasant obviously but not end of the world. x x

your child could be a carrier though and have no symptons but pass it on to others like the frail and vunerable. you might know til it was too late. i'm not to concerned if lily does get it we'll deal with it if it happens, like i said, shes made of tough scottish stuff lol.

there are much worse things i worry bout her catching. my friends 3 year old son caught the deadliest strain of meningitis earlier this month and came within hours of dying. he is a very lucky little boy to have such a quick thinking mum. meningitis is my biggest fear. i never thought you were trying to get in to an argument hun dont worry lol x x

Yeah but then, if you knew Lily had it you purposely wouldnt go anywhere near frail people or people who are trying to keep it away.
In the end, if we're all going to get it, the frail grannies and poorly kids are included in that too, so it would be better if we were prepared so we can treat our children better.
Not trying to get into an argument or anything hun, just think it should have 2 different opinions xxxx
