MMR

Hi, Thomas is due to have his jabs on Friday, when i was booked the appointment i did not know what the jabs were for and being a first time mum i didn't really know much about the jab, i have heard things and they haven't been good, i've asked around my friends who have children to see what they think but i am sick with worry, know there is practically hardly any chance of him developing autisum but what if he does? i spoke to my mum about it and she said when we were given the jab as children she knew no different but if she had like me she would have been worried and maybe not got it done, but my mate said that i should get it done because of the out break of measles and mumps due to mothers not getting their children vaccinated could lead him to catch it. I really don't know what to do i feel like if i don't get him vaccinated and he get either i will feel really bad but if i get it done and he gets autisum i will feel even worse!! lastly i've also been told there is no evidence of it even being linked is that true?? sorry to go on i'm not usually a worrier but this is really stressing me out all views, comments, suggestions ect will be very much appreciated!! Lauren xx

I know it's horrible, makes you want to cry when they look at you as if it's your fault!

I'm not thinking twice about giving Alex his MMr, I had it and there's nothing wrong with me. Plus, this is a bit forward, but a child can die from measles which to me is more worrying than my child getting autism plus there are children who have not had the MMR who are autistic.
This is what i thought, i think i was reading up on it to much, i did this myself surely it's better for your child to be alive but be autistic rather than not here at all your right and i think if your going to get it your going to get it it's unfair on thomas to not give him the jab - thank you he will be having it on friday - how i will cope with his little face all upset and crying because of it i don't know :(
