Hi olive oil is the usual method of treatment for cradle cap. Try using it again, but put it on every night for about a week to see if this prevents it from returning. If this doesn’t work, your Health Visitor will be able to prescribe you a thick greasy emollient such as Epaderm or Hydromol which are great for moisturising very dry skin. Hope this helps Liz (health visitor and gurgle expert)

I must admit that my son did develop cradle cap not long after he was born and when he used to sleep on me I did rub/massage his scalp and remove a large proportion of his cradle cap. I am sure a HV will tell me off for doing this but when I rubbed/massaged his scalp it just used to come away from the scalp.

use pure extra virgin olive oil to get rid of it and then i use dentinox cradle cap shampoo that helps prevent it but make sure u r throughly rinsing the hair too as this can make it worst if residue is left xxxx
