out of interest, if you was havin ivf and could pick and choose what type of baby you would have, and i mean everything like health, looks, intelligence etc, would you choose or would you just accept what nature intended. have to say if i had the choice (which don't because got pregnant naturally) i'd definitely chose with regards to health, not sure about looks though and intelligence tho xx

i would go for health and no preeclampsia!all i want for my children is good health long life.i always thought i'd have a brown eyed baby as it dominates blue but i got 2blue eyed babies who i adore and want them just as nature intended.
i totally agree with ellie, health is the most important thing. pregnancy is a natural thing, that should not be messed with. i mean i wouldnt love my baby any less just because it had blonde hair and not brown. i personally think it is so so wrong that they have even done something like this! xx
What if u could have all 3 tho? i read that with new screening techniques the whole designer baby thing could be quite close but it might be difficult in england because of stricter laws. i bet you could get it overseas tho. would you do that?
nope, it is our individuality that makes us humans. I think looks are superficial, intelligance can be learnt ( unless there are abnormalities or health issues) I would only be concerned about health. I think the more u mess with dna etc the more mother nature rebels an then u get weird mutations. i personally only care about my childrens health.

After havin two babies with health problems ( one died aged 2 1.2 yrs old as she had really bad health problems) an our last duaghter born with a heart condition she is 6 weeks. i would deffo go for health options. If i could rule out any probs for their health in later life then i would do that too. but having had 4 children, i know my children would be beautiful anyway..not that am braggin but for some reason me an hubby make stunning children. I belive intelligance is down to environment so luckily my kids are very smart as we encourage them to work hard at scholl. I do kno that there are many forms of intelligence. my hubby did pants at school were as i did really well, he is so clever tho an for all of my " book learnin lol" isnt a patch on him.
Health is deffo of big importance tho so if i could i would. sorry for the ramble.
when it comes to looks i think thats all the excitment....the 9months or wondering!
If I could 'design' my baby, yeah, I would def give it good health but everything else I would leave up to nature. x
